Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family.

The trail includes an Easter trail sheet, pencil, bunny ears and a chocolate egg, or vegan and free from* chocolate egg, made here in the UK from cocoa that's responsibly sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.

*Suitable for people with milk, egg, gluten, peanut and tree nut allergies.

Road Directions

Hardwick is approximately 2 miles from junction 29 of the M1 motorway

From North/South - leave M1 motorway at junction 29 and take A6175 (signposted Clay Cross). Take first turning on left (following brown signs for Hardwick Hall). Follow road for approx 1 mile and turn left passing underneath M1 motorway. Follow road past Stainsby Mill and turn right onto Hardwick Estate. Follow signs to car park.

From East - follow A617 to junction with M1 motorway and take 2nd exit at roundabout (A6175), then follow route from North/South.

From West - follow A619 to Chesterfield. At traffic light controlled roundabout (Matalan) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. Keep in left lane and at traffic lights go straight on. At roundabout select right lane and take 3rd exit. At next roundabout (traffic light controlled) select left lane and take 2nd exit (A617). Stay on A617 to M1 motorway junction (approx 4 miles) and, at roundabout select right lane and take 5th exit (A6175, signposted Clay Cross). Then follow route from North/South.

Public Transport Directions

Pronto bus from Chesterfield, alight Glapwell 'Young Vanish', and cross the road, walk up the hill and take 1st right following signs to Rowthorne and Hardwick. Continue toward village then take 2nd right and 1st left, arriving at Rowthorne gate. Continue straight on to access Hardwick Hall. Please note the walk from the bus stop is approximately 2 miles, on main roads in part and with limited signage.
