About

Chesterfield Museum invites you to join them as they give you an exclusive tour around the art collection store.

Our Museum Store Tour will give an introduction to the work our Museum Curatorial Team do behind the scenes to care for and manage Chesterfield Museum’s Collections.

The tour of Unit 22 will focus specifically on our fine art collection and there will be an opportunity to view works from the Joseph Syddall collection as well as a selection of other beautiful artworks we hold. You will also see the way we store our artworks – both large and small – and find out about the challenging task of moving all these items from the Museum and into our store.

In addition, there will be an opportunity to view our portrait of Rosa Markham, which recently underwent conservation cleaning by the expert team at Lincoln Conservation (University of Lincoln). Learn more about this on our museum website

Finally, there will be a chance for visitors to walk around the store and catch a glimpse at the fascinating range of further items and collections we hold there.
