Spital Cemetery - Chesterfield area walking festival

About

This walk includes sights of interest relating to three builders buried in Spital Cemetery, one of whom is a woman, who may not be so well known but are responsible for various buildings in Chesterfield in the late 19th Century (Amy Wright, Samuel Rollinson and William Rooth).

Leaving the Cemetery, we will take Hollis Lane into town and first visit Beetwell Street where Amy Wright and her family ran their business. From there we will walk through the town centre passing the Masonic Hall, the Pentecostal Church, Trinity Church, Allen & Orr Builders Yard and Chesterfield Parish Church, amongst others. The walk will then return to Spital Cemetery.

The walk will conclude with an offer of refreshments and a brief talk about the people buried in the cemetery and the work of the Friends of Spital Cemetery group.
