About
The ancient custom of Well Dressing is only found in Derbyshire and is the art of decorating springs and wells with pictures made from natural materials.
Coal Aston Folk and Friends Well Dressing Group have been creating these wells for many years, composition of the group may change annually but new members always welcome.
Our ethos is community involvement rather than perfection.
The blessing service will take place on Coal Aston Gala Day when stalls games and refreshments are available in or behind the Village Hall from 1pm to 4pm.
The Well will be positioned on the site of the Old Village Pond (now filled in). Refreshments available on gala day only.

Road Directions
From North/South Leave M1 motorway at junction 29 and follow A617 to Chesterfield (approx 4 miles). At traffic light controlled roundabout select right-hand lane and take 4th exit (A61 signposted Sheffield). At traffic light controlled roundabout (Tesco) take 2nd exit (A61). At next roundabout (James Cycles) take 3rd exit (A61). Follow A61 to next roundabout (approx 4 miles) and take 2nd exit B6057. At next roundabout take 3rd exit B6158 (Dyche Lane) towards Coal Aston. After passing BP garage turn left at mini roundabout (Eckington Road) into village.
From East Follow A617 to junction with M1 motorway, then follow route from North/South.
From West Follow A619 into Chesterfield. At traffic light controlled roundabout (Matalan) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. Keep in left lane and at traffic lights go straight on. Stay in left lane but, at roundabout select middle lane and take 2nd exit (A632). Turn immediately left into slip road to A61 (signposted Sheffield). At traffic light controlled roundabout (Tesco) take 2nd exit (A61), then follow route from North/South.
