Chatsworth House lit up at night

About

Loki, the Norse god of mischief, has cast an enchanted spell over the Chatsworth Garden evoking the magical atmosphere of a Nordic winter through captivating light trails and themed illuminated displays.

Wrap up warm and embark on an exciting passage of discovery; experience our ‘northern lights’ over the Canal Pond and let magical colour guide you along the Broad Walk into a glade of glowing lights. For the first time, see the historic Maze lit with wands of light and filled with festive music.

From 5-23 November, Christmas in the garden tickets also include access to the Christmas market. During the Christmas market (5-23 November), car parking arrangements may be different to what you may have previously experienced at Chatsworth. Please take a moment to view the Christmas market car park plan on the Chatsworth website.

The best time to experience the gardens is from dusk. The walk is approximately 1.8km so please allow between 45mins to 1hr 30mins for this. Some areas of the walk will be darker than others and we ask you to supervise children and recommend you bring a torch.

The walk is one-way and there are no cut throughs to shorten the route, as the rest of the garden is in darkness and includes areas of open water and steep drops. Colleagues will be on hand to offer assistance should you need it at any time.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the garden.
