Chesterfield Christmas Lights Switch On and Market featuring the main Christmas tree

About

Get into the festive spirit as Chesterfield’s annual Christmas Lights Switch On returns for 2023 with a variety of entertainment performing throughout the day and a market where shoppers can start their Christmas shopping.

The event takes place from 12 noon to 6pm, with the switch on happening at 4.45pm. Appearances from special guest Paddington Bear will take place throughout the afternoon.

The stage show will be held in New Square and there will be a variety of different performers.

You can also explore The Festival of Christmas Trees at the Crooked Spire Church and make a day of it exploring Chesterfield this Christmas.

A market will run alongside this event in the Market Square and the Market Hall will be open so shoppers can start picking up presents from local businesses.

If you are heading to the event, please remember that Chesterfield Borough Residents can park for free with their residents pass on a Sunday.

The entertainment line-up for the day will follow closer to the date.
