Grassmoor Country Park on the Five Pits Trail

About

Grassmoor Country Park sits at the northern end of the Five Pits Trail. It’s a great place for walking, cycling or horse riding and a perfect place for a picnic. It’s mostly on level ground with surfaced tracks for easier access.

The Park is home to wildlife, including the endangered water vole. Keep an eye out for harmless grass snakes basking in the sun or swimming in the ponds. The meadows are great for butterflies and, if you’re lucky, you might see a Six Spot Burnet Moth which is out and about in the daytime.

Skylarks and Meadow Pipits are among the birds you might see, along with a Kestrel searching for a snack..
