Wednesday 17 May
Wednesday might mark the halfway point of the festival but that does not mean it is slowing down. With ample walks still to join, there are a lot of experiences not to be missed.
How about a walk around Grassmoor Country Park to explore how DCRT are using a new, nature-friendly flood alleviation and habitat creation scheme to benefit wildlife? Maybe take a stroll along the Chesterfield Canal path and see how things have changed over recent years?
There is also the opportunity to join a walk around Ogston Reservoir, which is great for birdwatching, or just for taking in the scenery. You can also take a leisurely stroll around the hidden gem that is Hunloke Community Garden and over to the nearby MacGregor’s Pond.
In the evening, take a ramble along woodland paths from the train station through to Tapton Golf Course and the grounds of Chesterfield Royal Hospital whilst taking in the views.
