Calling all families to the Avenue Country Park to have a go at den building and wildlife themed activities.
Have you heard of Steetly Chapel, the most complete Norman building to be found anywhere in Europe? A Walk in Three Counties sets out from Whitwell to visit this Chapel in the tiny hamlet of Steetly, which sits on the border of Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
Why not try a new walk ‘Past the Windy Castle and Home by the Brook’ to explore some of the area’s tiny hamlets to Bluster Castle, followed by a drop down into the Linacre valley and a walk back to your starting point alongside Holme Brook.
The ‘Wild West Wander’ is another new walk up to Ramsley Moor and Big Moor’, starting in Shillito Woods. Be prepared for a steep climb but you’ll be rewarded with stunning views across an ancient landscape.
Another day of fantastic walks exploring the Chesterfield area. The Festival’s nearly finished so make sure you book a walk before time runs out!
