About

Starting from the Horse and Groom Inn, join the Hairy Hikers on a relaxing 5-mile stroll through the stunning Bolsover countryside just before sunset.

Travelling through fields and some woodland, this route provides the perfect opportunity to appreciate your surroundings at marvel at the beauty of nature.

There will be one rest stop along the way to enjoy the breath-taking views before returning back to the pub where you are welcome to finish off with a well-earned pint.

Road Directions

From North/South From the M1, take the exit at junction 30 and at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A616 to Chesterfield/Newark. Follow the signs at the roundabouts and continue on this road for approximately 7.6 miles until you turn right onto Boughton Lane. After half a mile, turn left onto High Street (next to the pink house) then go right at the mini roundabout onto Mansfield Road. Continue for approximately 4 miles and the Inn will be on your right.    From East Follow A1 and then take the B6387 exit via the slip road towards Retford/Ollerton. After approximately 1.5 miles, turn right onto Main Street, continue for 2 miles and then at the roundabout take the 2nd exit to continue straight on to Netherfield Lane. At the next roundabout, after approximately 2.5 miles, take the 1st exit onto Ollerton Road (B6034) and then at the next immediate roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A616. After 3.2 miles, Turn left onto Cottage Lane, then following a further 3.2 miles turn right onto Scarcliffe Lanes (A632). Continue straight on Rotherham Road for approximately half a mile and the Inn will be on to your left just after the junction.   From West Follow A617 towards Horns Bridge roundabout, take the 5th exit to continue on this road and then after approximately 5 miles, take the 2nd exit at Heath Interchange. You will pass Twin Oaks Hotel on the left. Continue down Rylah Hill then go straight onto Main Street. Turn left to stay on Main Street and then at the junction, continue straight over. After approximately a mile, turn left again onto Rotherham Road and then the Inn will be on your left.
