About
Santa Claus will be cruising the Chesterfield Canal on the John Varley narrowboat, welcoming children and adults alike.
Board the John Varley at Tapton Lock, on the Tesco roundabout in Chesterfield. Enjoy a 30-minute cruise on the Chesterfield Canal and meet Santa on-board.
Adults receive a mince pie and a festive drink whilst children receive sweets and a gift from Santa.
When booking, please provide the name, age and gender for each child in your party, so that we can select gifts.
There is no charge for babies under one year old. As part of the booking process you are asked for the children's details - please include your baby so that Santa will know to have a gift ready for them.
Please arrive a little earlier than your trip start time to allow time for parking etc, and please wear warm clothing.

Road Directions
From North/South Leave M1 motorway at junction 29 and take A617 to Chesterfield (approx 4 miles). At traffic light controlled roundabout select right hand lane and take 4th exit (A61, signposted Sheffield). At next roundabout (Tesco’s) select middle lane and take 3rd exit (brown sign for Tapton Lock).
From East Follow A617 to junction with M1 motorway and take 3rd exit (A617 signposted Chesterfield), then follow route from North/South.
From West Follow A619 to Chesterfield. At traffic light controlled roundabout (Matalan) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. Keep in left lane and, at traffic lights, go straight on. Stay in left lane and, at roundabout, select middle lane and take 2nd exit (A632). Turn immediately left onto slip road to A61 (signposted Sheffield). At next roundabout (Tesco’s) select middle lane and take 3rd exit (brown sign for Tapton Lock).
