Trees at Spital Cemetery

About

Which famous names associated with Chesterfield’s past can be found on some of the graves?

What is the most common name found on a gravestone?

This family walk is a chance to find out about the history and wildlife located in Spital Cemetery. You will find common trees to the UK, such as Ash, Elm and Beech and also an avenue of Limes, a species often found in cemeteries, and you will learn why.

Supplied with a list of treasures to find, you will be taking a gentle stroll to hunt out various treasures and uncover some interesting facts along the way. Photos of your finds can be uploaded to the Friends of Spital Cemetery Instagram account - so bring your smartphone!

Assistance will be given with this if needed. Refreshments will be available.
