About

A gentle 3 mile walk with the chance to get away from the stresses of daily life. 

We will take opportunities along the walk to find a space and pause, allow ourselves to gather our thoughts and use our senses to bring us closer to nature.

Bring binoculars if you have them. Sturdy footwear advised.

Road Directions

From North/South Leave M1 motorway at junction 29 and follow A617 to Chesterfield (approx 4 miles). At traffic light controlled roundabout select left lane and take 1st exit (A61 signposted Derby). Go straight on at 3 sets of traffic lights, then continue on A61 to roundabout and take 1st exit (Hornbeam Drive). Follow road to the Avenue country park.

From East Follow A617 to M1 motorway junction then follow route from North/South.

From West Follow A619 to Chesterfield . At traffic light controlled roundabout (Matalan) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. Keep in left lane and, at traffic lights go straight on. Select right hand lane and at roundabout take 3rd exit. At next roundabout (traffic light controlled) select right hand lane and take 3rd exit (A61 signposted Derby), then follow route from North/South.
