About

A tour of one the museum’s off-site stores with the chance to explore some of the larger items from the museum’s collection that are not normally on display, or that have never been on display before.

The Museum’s Collections Officer will act as a guide and explain how the museum looks after the items within its care and the challenges involved.

Booking not needed - just turn up at 11am.

Road Directions

From North/South Leave M1 motorway at junction 29 and follow A617 to Chesterfield (approx 4 miles), At traffic light controlled roundabout select right lane and take 5tht exit (A617 signposted M1 south). Leave immediately by 1st slip road and, at end of slip road turn right. Follow road around left hand bend and continue on road for approx ½ mile. At mini roundabout go straight on past Eastwood Park and continue to traffic lights. Turn left into Calow Lane. Follow road for approx ¼ mile and turn right into Calow Brook Drive. Take first available left turn to Unit 1.

From East Follow A617 to M1 motorway junction and take 3rd exit (A617, signposted Chesterfield) then follow route from North/South

From West Follow A619 to Chesterfield. At traffic light controlled roundabout (Matalan) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. Keep in left lane and, at traffic lights, go straight on. Select right hand lane and, at roundabout, take 3rd exit. At next roundabout (traffic light controlled) select left lane and take 2nd exit (A61y, signposted M1 South), then follow route from North/South.
