About
This is a flat circular walk from the town centre mainly on car-free footpaths or quiet pavements. The route passes through several parks and green spaces and will highlight some places of interest to transition chesterfield.
From the town centre, we walk past the railway station and along the east-west walk & cycle route. We follow the course of the river hipper through queen’s park, past historic Cannon Mill, Goytside, Walton Dam and Somersall Park where we stop for lunch. We then walk on quiet pavements and past a community apple orchard in the Inkerman Park. We continue on to Loundsley Green where we take footpaths that follow the course of the Holmebrook to Monkey Park.
Our final stop is for a short tour around the Inspire Community Garden (where you may like to try out their compost loo!) Before returning to the town centre by Low Pavements and the Market Square.
