Walking in Chesterfield Area

About

Explore the highlights of the Chesterfield area on one of our many guided walks and with a vast range available there is something for everyone. Whether you prefer a gentle stroll through local parkland or fancy a more challenging 10-mile ramble around the countryside, the Chesterfield Walking Festival provides the perfect opportunity to get out and about.

There will be family walks so that the children can get involved, all the way up to the challenging Chesterfield Round Walk which boasts an impressive 34-mile route. The more experienced ramblers often opt to complete the whole distance, but there is the option to leave at any point along the way.

Walks take place across the whole area including Bolsover and some of the stunning countryside in North East Derbyshire. More details will be added as walks come in.

Most walks will be free or are taking donations for great causes and all are led by a fully trained guide who knows the history, wildlife and the best countryside to walk through (as well as the best pubs to visit) in the beautiful Chesterfield area landscape.

Booking opens Friday 8 March 2024 at 10am. All walks must be booked in advance unless stated otherwise.

For useful information regarding the walking festival, go to www.visitchesterfield.info/whats-on/walking-festival/useful-information.
