Chesterfield Area Walking Festival - CANCELLED

Enjoy the Chesterfield Area on foot combining a walk with a boat trip along the Chesterfield Canal, discovering George Stephenson's connection with Chesterfield or setting out on a bus with a walk back to town.

If you're looking for a challenge, try the Chesterfield Round Walk, a 34 mile trek through the countryside that surrounds the town. Tackle the Beast of Bolsover, a 20 mile hike or a 14 mile walk around Dronfield on the Dance Around a Barn walk,

If that sounds all too much take an evening stroll of 4 or 5 miles, a short walk around the town or a family ramble of 2 or 3 miles.

With lots of walks to choose from there's got to be one that suits you whether it's getting up with the birds on the Dawn Chorus walk, a litter pick around the town centre, or an exploration of Chesterfield Museum’s collection on their offsite store tour. Try out Nordic Walking or take the family to find out all about trees on the Spital Tree Trail.

Enjoy the stunning Derbyshire countryside – Ogston reservoir, woods carpeted in bluebells,, river valleys and nature reserves. See some of our great houses and halls including Hardwick and Sutton Scarsdale.

Most walks are free so there's no excuse not to join us. All are led by a fully trained guide who knows the history, wildlife and the best countryside to walk through (as well as the best pubs to visit) in the beautiful Chesterfield landscape.
