Avenue Washlands Nature Reserve

Join us for a wildlife walk around The Avenue Washlands nature reserve with the Reserve Officer.

We’ll be exploring the different habitats – meadows, wetlands and hedgerows, including a brief history of the site. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as yellowhammer, bullfinches, ducks and butterflies.

The walk follows good paths on multi-user trails and footpaths with around 25 steps (although the steps can be avoided if you return by the same outward route).

Part of the footpath can be muddy at certain times particularly after rainfall so good footwear is essential.  There are no stiles, but we’ll pass through a couple of wicket or kissing gates.

There are some short steep sections with steps. The route has a circular loop and we will stop for short breaks along the way to explore different areas.
