30 The Story Mine - Markham Colliery Mining Memorial


A walk around the Markham Vale site looking at its industrial past, including public artworks commemorating the 3 mining disasters at the former Markham Colliery. Also visiting Poolsbrook Country Park.  We will look at old photos and maps of the area as we walk, and hear about the lives of the men killed in the mining disasters, led by volunteers from the Story Mine heritage project. Tea & coffee provided at the end of the walk.
