About
This ancient custom is all but unique to Derbyshire. Before the county boundaries were moved in, Dore was in Derbyshire but today it's in South Yorkshire and still dresses wells – this is the 49th year that Dore villagers have been dressing wells. The small well is done by older girl guides.
There are two cafes and two pubs in the village and, on Sunday after the service the Church Hall is open for cream teas (just follow the signposts).
