Elmton (nr Creswell) Well Dressing at Elmton
Well Dressing, Sat 24 Jun - Sun 9 Jul 2017, free entry
The ancient custom of Well Dressing is only found in Derbyshire and is the art of decorating springs and wells with pictures made from natural materials.
Well dressing has taken place in Elmton for over 30 years and the village displays three well dressings. The main board is worked on by local residents from Elmton, Creswell and Clowne villages and the two smaller boards are designed and completed by children from Creswell Infant and Nursery School and Hodthorpe Primary School.
