This pub is situated on the crown of the hill leading up from Brookside into the oldest part of Barlow village. Whether you are looking for breakfast, a traditional Sunday lunch, a romantic evening meal, a lunchtime business meal or want to celebrate a special occasion, you will always receive a warm welcome at The Old Pump.
The restaurant has a traditional feel to it and is warm and welcoming. It boasts a wide and varied choice of both traditional and contemporary food and also has a large selection of tasty vegetarian dishes. Gluten free dishes are available. All the meals are freshly prepared on the premises using locally sourced produce where possible.
Breakfast includes a hearty full English breakfast to start the day as well as a number of lighter options.
The lunchtime menu offers the diner a choice of 'a la carte' dishes including a variety of main courses, a selection of salads, baguettes and toasties. Alternatively, there is the Heavenly Food Menu which offers several choices of dishes at fixed prices depending on the number of courses taken.
On Friday is the ever popular 'Fishy Friday Special' comprising of the fish of the day, home-made chips and garden or mushy peas, with bread and butter and a cup of tea. Extended into the evening, for a nominal increase in price, a glass of wine replaces the cup of tea.
The evening menu offers a selection of mouthwatering dishes, all specially prepared and beautifully presented.
Each week there are a number of Specials available at both lunchtime and evening. These are clearly marked on the blackboard in the restaurant.
