Stainsby Mill

Hardwick Hall,
Doe Lea,
S44 5QJ

Stainsby Mill is part of the Hardwick Estate and owned by the National Trust. Discover for yourself the workplace of a 19th Century miller. A mill has stood on this site since the 13th Century, providing flour for the local villages and, later, for the Hardwick Estate.

See the impressive fully functioning water-powered mill with a massive 17 foot iron waterwheel and buy freshly milled flour as a souvenir.

The mill is not fully accessible to wheelchair users as there are 9 steps to the first floor. A Braille guide and a large print guide are available and there is an induction loop in reception.
