A Tudor Experience at Hardwick Estate
Hardwick Hall, owned by the National Trust, is home to outstanding collections of 16th Century embroidery, tapestries, furniture and portraits. Walled courtyards enclose fine gardens, orchards and a large herb garden, and the surrounding parkland contains rare breeds of cattle and sheep.
Meet Hardwick's Tudor characters in costume. Talk to them and find out how they lived, their social lives and reasons for coming to see the Countess of Shrewsbury. On display will be items of Tudor life, a baby's layette, Tudor underwear and fashion accessories, followed by lunch in Bess' kitchen.
