The ancient Derbyshire tradition of Well Dressing deserves a special mention. This beautiful and fleeting custom is the art of decorating springs and wells with pictures made of natural materials – flowers, berries, leaves… See a well being dressed to find out more, or just marvel at the intricate and detailed pictures on display.

Chesterfield is staging its annual Firework Display at Stand Road Recreation Ground, Whittington Moor this bonfire night. The event, hosted by Chesterfield Borough Council, starts from 6 pm with entertainment from Peak FM’s breakfast show presenters.
