Details
High Hazels is one of two National Trust holiday cottages standing at the heart of the Elizabethan Hardwick Hall estate, dating back to Bess of Hardwick times. It pre-dates the New Hall and was formally the estates brewhouse, retaining 16th century details.
The ground floor of the cottage has a entrance hall leading to a kitchen, sitting room with multi-fuel stove and sofa bed, dining room and fully adapted shower room.
The first floor of the cottage has three bedrooms, of which two are doubles, one has a 5 foot antique half tester mahogany bed, another with a 5 foot antique brass bed and one twin. There is a large bathroom with shower and toilet and second toilet situated elsewhere.
The second floor has a landing leading to three bedrooms - one single, one twin and one double with a 5 foot bed.
There is an enclosed garden laid to lawn and parking for three cars in the stableyard courtyard.
