Aubergine
This stylish restaurant is on the outskirts of Chesterfield at Whittington Moor.
Owned by Matt Rushton who worked in London for Gordon Ramsey. Locally Matt has worked at the Peacock at Rowsley, the White Horse at Woolley Moor and the nearby Casa Hotel, all of which have good reputations for food.
By day Aubergine serves leisurely, city-style breakfasts including smoked salmon and scrambled egg, or a stylish full English, complete with circular eggs, potato rosti and the daily papers. Choose a light lunch or have a two or three course lunch from a set menu.
In the evening the Restaurant is transformed for dinner offering an enticing range of starter, mains and desserts, including steaks, fish and a vegetarian selection.

From North/South
Leave M1 at junction 29 and follow A617 to Chesterfield (approx 4 miles). At traffic light controlled roundabout select right hand lane and take 4th exit (A61). At next roundabout (Tesco, traffic light controlled) select left lane and take 1st exit. At next roundabout (Gordon Lamb) select right hand lane and take 3rd exit. Follow road passing Asda on left and Chesterfield Football Club on right. Aubergine is further down road on right, opposite United Carpets.
From East
Take A617 to M1 motorway junction, then follow route from North/South.
From West
Follow A619 to Chesterfield. At traffic light controlled roundabout (Matalan) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. Keep in left lane and, at traffic lights go straight on. At roundabout select middle lane and take 2nd exit. Turn immediately left into slip road to A61 (signposted Sheffield). At traffic light controlled roundabout (Tesco) select left lane and take 1st exit, then follow directions from North/South.
