Tissington Well Dressing at Tissington
Well dressing is in ancient tradition unique to Derbyshire. Tissington has been celebrating the life giving water from the wells for centuries, possibly since 1349, after the village survived a terrible outbreak of the Black Death. Six wells are dressed in Tissington.

Blessing Service
9 May 2013 at 11.00am in St Mary's Church, followed by blessing each well from around 12 noon
Parking fees - £2 per car, £10 per coach
Wells can be viewed in the making from Monday 6th - Wednesday 8th May from 10am to 5pm. Call the Tea Rooms for details.
